Complex Optical Investigation of Sodium Superoxide Loaded Phosphovanadate Glass System in Ultra-Violet and Visible Region

Sodium superoxide loaded phosphovanadate based glass systems were prepared from a mixture of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), phosphorus (P2O5) boric acid (H3BO3) and sodium (NaO2) using melt-quenching method. Amorphous phase as-prepared system confirmed XRD technique. Surface morphology studied scanning electron microscope. Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy was employed to extract complex optical parameters like direct indirect band gap, Urbach energy, refractive index, dielectric constant conductivity. The absorption bands in the region 200 - 400 nm are recognized ligand-to-metal charge transfer. 600 is ascribed pair excitation processes. index increases initially then decreases for 15 20 mol % NaO2 due non bridging oxygen (NBO) atoms. 25 sample shows maximum value extinction coefficient index. gap energies vary between 2.067 1.824 eV 1.869 1.495 eV, respectively. With increase concentration NaO2, effective because edge shifted into forbidden defect levels below conduction. This primary report on opens wide avenue battery supercapacitor applications.
